Australian Football Awards
We unite as a football family. We celebrate through the Australian Football Awards.
From children playing football for their local club or school through to players representing Australia at the highest international level, the Australian Football Awards recognise our football family.
Players at a professional and non professional level, volunteers, coaches and referees all form the fabric of Australia’s rich football tapestry. 2009 marks the inaugural year of the Australian Football Awards.
There are three main categories:
General Awards
- Football Federation Australia Medal
- Community Service Award
Professional Awards
- Footballer of the Year (male)
- Footballer of the Year (female)
- U20 Footballer of the Year (male)
- U20 Footballer of the Year (female)
Non professional Awards
- Team Award
- Volunteer of the Year
- Coach of the Year (male)
- Coach of the Year (female)
- Referee of the Year
In addition the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) awards, Player and U23 Player, will be incorporated into the Australian Football Awards.
All awards (other than the PFA awards) will be agreed by the Board of Football Federation Australia.
